He was predeceased by: his parents, Fritz Rath and Mollie Rath (Heitman); his former wife Dorothy Garvin; his wife Joyce Galvin; and his brothers, Kenneth Rath and Orlo Rath.
He is survived by: his cousin Gerald Rath; his children, Valerie Hitchings (Michael) of Fort Collins, CO, Brad Rath (Shelly) of Laurel, NE, Marcine Higney (Pat) of Broomfield, CO and Scott Rath (Angie) of Laurel, NE; his stepchildren, Olivia Embrey (Andy) of Milford, NE, Nancy Abts (John) of Laurel, NE, Lisa Floss (Bob) of Milford, IA and Ben Galvin (Terri) of Laurel, NE; his sister Zella Dederman; and his sister-in-law Magdalene Rath. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
