He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Madsen and Inger Madsen (Mikkelsen); his son Michael; and his siblings, Jens, Martin, Fred, Katherine, Rose, Pauline and Leona.
He is survived by: his wife LaVonne Madsen of Laurel; his children, Lesa Kathol, Janelle Cameron (Jeff) of Frederick, MD, Dan Madsen of Laurel and Paul Madsen (Jean) of Saginaw, MN; and his siblings-in-law, Yvonne Grimmus of Sibley, IA and Sam Young of Chambers, NE. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
