He was predeceased by: his parents, Eric Nelson and Vernice Nelson (Erwin); his daughter-in-law Roxie Nelson; his brother-in-law Cliff Stalling; his sister Joyce; and his sibling-in-law Evert Johnson (Ardyce).
He is survived by: his wife Doris Johnson of Laurel; his children, Mary Wordekemper (James) of Norfolk, Dan "Harvey" Nelson of Allen, Jodene "Jo" Diediker (Kevin) of Dakota City, Todd Nelson of Laurel and LaRae "Buffy" Harmon (Tom) of Lincoln; his siblings, Donna Stalling of Norfolk, Sharon Herrmann (Fred) of West Point and Dean Nelson (Sue) of Green Valley, AZ; and his siblings-in-law, Delwyn Johnson (Fern) of Oklahoma City, OK, Linda Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK and Mary Johnson of Allen. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
