It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christopher James Mendez of Laurel, Nebraska, who passed away on March 6, 2023, at the age of 49, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Gloria Jean Volquardsen (Volquardsen); and his grandparents, Henry, Shirley Volquardsen, Joe, Eileen Mendez, Alice and Owen Boardman.
He is survived by: his wife Tamara Brabec of Fremont, NE; his son Mason Mendez of Winside, NE; his father Mike Mendez of Leavenworth, KS; his brother Patrick Boardman (Julie) of Waukee, Iowa; his aunts and uncles, Linda Becker of Lincoln, Keith Volquardsen of Ankeny, Jerry Volquardsen of Lincoln, NE and Peggy Wegner of Norfolk, NE.; and also, Mike, Sarah Naeve of Winside, Nathan Hancock (Laura) of Sioux Falls, SD, Terence Hancock (Whitney) of Sioux Falls, SD, Narelle Burns (Sean) of Omaha, NE, Kayli, Trace, Stephanie, Anna and Gracie Naeve of Winside.
