It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Antonette Pokorny (La Vista, Nebraska), who passed away on December 2, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Helen Antonette has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her husband Anton "Tony" Pokorny. She is survived by: her children, Martin Pokorny (Ginny) and Sharon Guthrie (Dave); and her grandchildren, Josh Pokorny (Leslie), Matt Pokorny (Herma Ryan), Kyle Guthrie (Soha) and Ellen Fisher (Jud). She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bethany Funeral Home (8201 Harrison St, La Vista, NE 68128). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church (7600 S 42nd St, Bellevue, NE 68147).
