He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wrye and Bernadette Wrye (Abbott); and his brother Victor Wrye. He is survived by: his wife Chiyo; and his children, Kiyoko Henderson (John), Deka Brokke (Scott) and Donald Wrye (Raquel). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Harrison Street Baptist Church for building and property maintenance.
