He was predeceased by: his grandfather Gilbert Smidt; his great-grandparents, Klaus, Leona Smidt, Everett, Amanda Schlick, Don, Mary Smith and Erma Fortkamp; and his cousin Kalen Schiermeyer.
He is survived by: his adoptive parent Kyle Smidt; his parents, Kyle Smidt and Kathy Smidt of Kearney; his sister Ashlyn Smidt of Kearney; his grandparents, DeEtte Smidt of Superior, NE, Patricia Fortkamp of Kearney and Duane Fortkamp of McCook, NE; his great-grandparent Martin Fortkamp of McCook, NE; his aunts and uncles, Gene and Kim Creamer; his children, Brian, Brad, Sarah, Kurt and Karen Smidt; his grandchildren, Kendra, Eric, Barry and Karla Blackstone; and his children, Madison, Conner, Mike, Jeanette Fortkamp, Mathew, Morgan and Marcus.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha or it is suggested to bring a children's toy to be donated in Wyatt's memory to Children's Hospital.
