It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verla Jean Stryker of Kearney, Nebraska, who passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Verla Jean Stryker to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence E. Danes and Anna L. Danes (Myer); her husband Ed Stryker; her son David; and her siblings, Viola, LaVina, Loretta, Norma, Betty Lou, Donna, Marva Lee, Wayne and Irvin.

She is survived by: her sons, Ronald (Pam Stryker), Charles (Christy Stryker) and Kenneth Stryker of Kearney, NE; and her daughter-in-law Marlys Stryker of Hildreth.

A memorial service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services (2421 Avenue A, Kearney, NE 68847).

“I remember Verla, from when I still lived in Kearney in the seventies. I moved away in 1980. She was always very concerned about her children. Ken Stryker was one of my friends. I got to go over to Ken's house a couple of times. I remember that Verla's voice was very distinctive. She did what she had to do to give her children a better life. Rest in peace Verla.
