He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Flies and Willa Flies (Miller); his son Wade "Tulsa" Flies; and his siblings, Linda Kuhlman and Bill Flies.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Flies of Kearney, NE; his sons, Travis Flies (Angela) of Gibbon, NE and Tony Aubushon (Michelle) of North Platte, NE; his siblings, Chris (Arnie), Dona (LeRoy) and Dave Flies (Pat); and his grandchildren, Riggin Flies, Garrett, Caleb and Trenton Flies.
Memorials may be given to the St. Jude's Children Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
