He was predeceased by: his parents, Loney L. Bugay and Viola A. Bugay (Drozd); his sister Marjorie; his brother-in-law Frank Knopik; his brother Ronald; his sister-in-law Jolene Bugay; his parents-in-law, Ora "Buddy" and Bertha Bartlett; and his brother-in-law Clifford Bartlett.
He is survived by: his wife Althea M. Bartlett of Kearney; his children, Douglas Bugay (Kathi Healey) of Omaha, Steven Bugay (Janet) of Kearney, Yvonne Overman (Chris) of Kearney, Timothy Bugay (Laura) of Kearney, Julie Cepel (Ken) of Kearney and Scott; his grandchildren, Sasha Bugay of Draper, UT, Darcie, Tyler, Danielle, Shannon, Amy, Brian, Christina, Brandon and Nicole; and his great grandchildren, Caleese, Kinsley, Quinn, Kannon, Mason, Corbin, Beckett, Alex, Aubrey, Kaden, Parker, Madison and Nora.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Kearney Catholic High School Foundation or the Peterson Senior Center Activities Fund.
