He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis McLaughlin and Helen Doris McLaughlin (King); his siblings, Francis Reed, Ruth Gregory, Donald and Danny McLaughlin; and his stepdaughter Courtney Hopkins.
He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Scott McLaughlin (Tracie) of Kearney, Kim Almgren (Tim) of Omaha, Tonja Parra (Gabriel) of Pembroke Pines, FL, Tracy Troncone (Matt) of Haddonfield, NJ and Dawn Beister of Des Moines, IA.; his son-in-law Mike Hopkins of Kearney; his grandchildren, Lindsay McLaughlin, Adam McLaughlin (Darryn), Lauren Thurman (Joel), Rose Almgren, Samantha Barreto (Desi), Macie Troncone, Sydney Troncone, Hunter Hopkins and Liz Hopkins; and his great grandchildren, Hannah Thurman, James McLaughlin and Eli Barreto.
