He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertram Jochen and Lucinda Jochen (Schnider). He is survived by: his wife Beth Snyder of Kearney; his children, Nancy Cooper (Tim) of Hershey, NE., Tom Jochen (Jody) of Kansas City, KS. and Sally Mertens (Ken) of Lincoln, NE.; his siblings, David Jochen, Bruce Jochen (Sandra) and Mary Bauer; his grandchildren, Megan Courter (Trevor), Jarid Cooper (Lakyn), Haley Baker (Tanner), Zackary Cooper, Chanda Cooper, Chloe Jochen, Carson Jochen, Parker Mertens, Abigail Mertens and Grace Mertens; and his great grandchildren, Brekkyn, Ivy, Aspen Baker, Emma, Chael Courter, Kynzer and Kye Cooper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Central Nebraska Veteran's Home (4510 E 56th St, Kearney, NE 68847).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Central Nebraska Veteran's Home, Kearney YMCA or Kearney Parkinson's Group.
