She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Hock and Magdalena Hock (Bunsen); her son Jeff Fong; and her brothers, Dean, Harlan, Donald and Byron Hock.
She is survived by: her former husband Duane Fong; her husband Dan Dester; her sons, Scott Fong (Karen) of Ankeny, Iowa, Mark Fong (Peg) of Kearney and Dan Fong (Sandy) of Kearney; her daughter-in-law Jeanette Fong of Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren, Sarah Fong of Denver, Meagan Hock (Adam) of Ankeny, Jedidiah Fong (Carrie) of Canton, Kate Teters (Jeff) of Lincoln, Neb, Emily Karg (Jeremy) of Kearney, Micah Fong (Anika) of Kearney, Abby Fong of Kearney and Logan Fong of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and her siblings, Owen Hock of Penn Valley, California and Marcia Stoll (Don) of Grass Valley, California. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Marilyn's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
