He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. McSweeney and Ethel M. McSweeney (Ferguson); his daughter Meegan McSweeney Thompson; his siblings, James McSweeney, Marilyn Meersman (Robert) and Bob McSweeney (Rita); and his brother-in-law Philip Murphy.
He is survived by: his former spouse Gayle Evanson; his wife Janice Wiebusch; his children, Jodi Nelson (Bill) and John McSweeney (Michelle); his son-in-law Robb Thompson; his grandchildren, Lindsey Lierman (J. D.), Katie Nelson, Rachael Thompson, Brad Thompson (Shannon), Gunner McSweeney and Mason McSweeney; his great grandchildren, Millie Thompson and McKinlee McSweeney; his sister Norine Murphy; and his parents-in-law, Vaughn Wiebusch (Donna), Harold Wiebusch (Kathryn), Mary Sedlacek (Don) and David Shereen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
