He was predeceased by: his parents, Faye McCammond and Margaret Marshall McCammond; his son James A. McCammond; his sister Margaret Miller; and his great grandchild Cy Walker.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Pease; his brother Frank (Lonna); his daughter Jean McCammond Walker (Kim); his grandson John Walker (Abbey); his great grandchildren, Callum, Llewelyn and Vaughn; his granddaughter Katherine Walker Brown (David); his great grandchildren, Marshall and Miles; his grandson Michael Walker; his great grandchildren, Ramona and Helen; his daughter Janet Jennings (Bob); his grandson Tom Jennings (Kaci); his great grandchildren, Emerson and Hensley; his grandson Dan Jennings (Courtney); his great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Rowe; his daughter Joan Tritsch (Tom); his grandchildren, Megan Tritsch and Matt Tritsch (Jeanette); his great grandchildren, Olsen and Colette; his grandson Michael Tritsch (Tiffani); his great grandchild Townes; his daughter-in-law Kate Thayer McCammond; and his son John.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services (2421 Avenue A, Kearney, NE 68847). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (4511 6th Ave, Kearney, NE 68845).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to establish the John M. McCammond, M.D. scholarship for Medical Students.
