He was predeceased by: his parents, George Raymond and Audrey Fern Smith (Sherlock); his wife Carol Ann; and his brothers, Larry L. Smith, Robert J. Smith and Tony Copley.
He is survived by: his former wife Doris Vodicka; his children, Barry, Brenda, Melody Smith of Marquette, Nebraska and Richard Esquitin of Grand Island; and his siblings, Shelia Smith of Grand Island, Georgia Eberhardt of Aurora, Debra Lahners of Grand Island and Scott Copley of Grand Island, Nebraska.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
