It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Doris N. Thompson of Kearney, Nebraska, who passed away on August 4, 2021, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ernest Hall and Inez Hall (Marsh); her children, Gary, Beverly Gierhan and David (Barbara Schmidt); her son-in-law Bud Gierhan; and her grandson Mike Gierhan. She was also cherished by 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
Her neighbor in the room next to hers was admitted 2 weeks before the covid shutdown/isolation in 2020 and helped her negotiate all the things she needed to adjust to living in a nursing home without any ability to see her relatives for the year.
