He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Wilford and Irma May Gregg (McCoy); his wife Ruth Jeannine Arnold; his sisters, Elaine Warner (Duane) and Beverly Reiss (Leland); his siblings-in-law, Clarence Arnold, Chester Arnold, Dorrance Arnold (Evelyn), Dorsey Arnold (Beverly), Eugene Arnold, Richard Arnold, Fern Clapp (Bill), Gladys Arnold and Phyllis Snider (Ivan); and his great grandchild Owen Gregg.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Gregg (Billie Jo) of Kearney, Monte Gregg (Roxann) of Bertrand, Matt Gregg (Penny) of Bertrand and Angie McDermott (Roger) of Kearney; his grandchildren, Amber Swartz (Kevin) of Kearney, Ashley Hansen (Tony) of Bertrand, Trevor Gregg (Brittani) of Lake Wales, Florida, Gage Gregg (Kylee) of Bertrand, Jared Gregg of Kearney, Meghan Schneringer (Clint) of Kearney, Abbe Martell (Buddy) of Goodyear, Arizona and Jacob Gregg (Tessa) of Bertrand; his stepgrandsons, Ryan McDermott (Carol) of El Paso, Texas, Nathan McDermott (Babs) of La Marque, Texas and Joseph McDermott (Jen) of Omaha; his great grandchildren, Riah, Skylar Swartz of Kearney, Carson, Lilly, Walker, River Hansen of Bertrand, Charlie, Luke Gregg of Lake Wales, Florida, Bennett Gregg of Bertrand, Kellen and Briggs Schneringer of Kearney; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Marco Rubio of Omaha, Kailie Korth (Shawn) of Lindsay, Nebraska, Rylie McDermott of Lincoln, Ireland McDermott of El Paso, Texas, Sloane, Everett McDermott of La Marque and Maclyn McDermott of Lincoln; his great great grandchildren, Edwin Korth of Lindsay and Layla Korth of Lindsay; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Arnold of Sun City, Arizona and Jackie Reiss of Holdrege.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home (401 Burlington St, Holdrege, NE 68949). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:59 AM at the First Baptist Church - Kearney (3610 6th Ave, Kearney, NE 68845). A graveside service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Highland Cemetery (73749 County Rd 438, Bertrand, NE 68927).
