He is survived by: his brothers, Stanley and Kenneth; his son Eric Daniel (Jennifer) of Omaha; his wife Ellen Gitt of Kearney; his daughter Jill Steuter (Mathew) of Fairfax; his grandchildren, Celia, Adeline Gitt, Elizabeth, Paul and Katherine Anne Steuter; his brothers, David Gitt (Judy) of Fremont, Stan Gitt (Kathy) of Valley and Ken Gitt (Susan) of Mt. Airy, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Kate Glaser (Paul) of Spalding, Tami Moore of Kearney and Dennis Bruns of Grand Island. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
