He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Mickelsen and Dorothy Mickelsen (Fox); his siblings, Ray and Ruth Chism; his niece Julie Mickelsen; and his siblings-in-law, John, Mildred Fuller, Gayle Molzahn and Calvin Molzahn.
He is survived by: his wife Joan E Thompson; his stepdaughter Angela Salestrom (Tom); his grandsons, Travis Schroder (Marissa) and Tyson Schroder (April); his stepgrandsons, Ben and Jack Salestrom; his nieces and nephews, Dan Fulton (Pam), Jim Fulton, David Mickelsen, Dawn May (Mel), Michelle Olmedo (Hector), Jane Rasmussen (Keith) and Krista Mickelsen; and his sister-in-law Rosie Mickelsen. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews; great grand children; and great great nieces and nephews.
