He was predeceased by: his parents, Dietrich and Sophia Dunekacke (Mahlstadt); and his siblings, Anna Philpott (Dean), Sophia Hitzeman (Ernest), Marie Rohrs (Otto), Dora Rieken (Gieko), Fred Dunekacke (Laura) and Henry Dunekacke (Hazel).
He is survived by: his wife Imogene Christine Fossenbarger of Johnson; his children, Jane McMillen (Jim) of Blue Springs, MO and John Dunekacke of Pascagoula, MS; his grandchildren, Kristen McMillen Abdelgewad (Omar) of Indian Trail, N. C. and Corey McMillen (Bethany) of Lee's Summit, MO; his sisters-in-law, Katherine Swanson and Jane Fossenbarger; and his pet Tiger. He is also survived by thirteen nieces, nephews, many great-nieces and nephews.
