He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hawthorne and Ona Hawthorne (Gallagher); his former wife Jackie Hawthorne; his brothers, Leslie Hawthorne and Donald Hawthorne; and his stepson Rick Shafer.
He is survived by: his close friends, John (Stephanie) and TJ Wood of Overton; his wife Debi Hawthorne of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; his son Leonard Hawthorne; his stepchildren, Steve Shafer, Charles "Jerry" Hawthorne, Dennis Hawthorne, Nathan Menagh, Trinity Seder, Tasha Keeton, Katreena Melo and Cassie Proctor; and his siblings, Randy Hawthorne (Mary) of Grand Island, Nebraska, Linda Debord of Kearney, Neb, Twila Stahl (Eldie) of Columbus, Neb and Kay Carter of Alma, Nebraska.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
