He is survived by: his children, Joan Matz of Georgia, Jon Matz, Jenni Matz, Jeff Matz of Jackson and Corey Matz (Tonia) of Sioux City; his grandchildren, Hollie, Blake, Melissa, Sarah, Amanda, Tara, Cain and Makenzie; and his great grandchildren, Emma, Ezra, Lucky, Jaylynn, Kameron, Alyssa, Nathan, Aaliyah, Kaylee, Dominic, Vincent, Eva, Victoria and Zachary.
