She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Mohni and Irene Mohni (Snell); her husband Leslie Everett Berends; her stepfather Lawrence Sjostrom (Jack); and her siblings, Doris Manitz and Ray Mohni.
She is survived by: her siblings-in-law, Sharon Mohni and Bill Manitz; her children, Bruce Berends (Sue), Kent Berends (Karen) and Lynn Witte (Joe); and her grandchildren, Leah McCurdy (Mike), Russell Berends (Amanda), Kelly Backlund (Jesse Watson), Kendra Forney (Scott), Kerri Bell (Sylvan), Kelsey Ullom (Dustin), Tyler Sewell, Sarah Sweeterman and Jared Sewell (Katie). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
