He was predeceased by: his parents, William Claney and Pearl Claney; his wife Helen Smith Sandman; his daughter Sylvia Polly; and his siblings, Lois Foutz, Faye Blevins and Jim Claney.
He is survived by: his daughter Tonda McGarr (Max) of Imperial, NE.; his grandchildren, Christine Oetjen (Tim) of Gilbert, AZ, Janette Reed (Eddie) of Highlands Ranch, CO and Russell Mann; his great grandchildren, Zachary Oetjen of Gilbert, AZ, Brock and Emme Reed of Highlands Ranch, CO.; and his nephews, Jimmy Claney of Springfield, MO and Jerry Foutz.
