We are sad to announce that on September 30, 2020, at the age of 94, Merle Hayward of Hyannis, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Chester Ole and Myrtle Ester Matilda Hayward (Thorson); his brother Carl Hayward; his brother-in-law Mike Fullan; his son Robert N. Hayward; his son-in-law Randy Chatfield; and his granddaughter Sheila Reynders.
He is survived by: his former wife Lucille Ruth (Burton); his son Chuck; his sister Kay Soliday (Jim) of Portland, OR; his sister-in-law Carol Hayward of Fort Collins, CO; his daughters, Holly Westemeier (Ron) of Alliance, NE, Susan Hayward of Littleton, CO and Carol Chatfield of Kansas City, MO; his stepchildren, Lori McDonald of Fort Collins, CO, Stephanie Stroup (Paul) of Chadron, NE and Charles Wakely (Pam) of Palmdale, CA.; his grandchildren, Laura, Jonathan, Natalie, Caitlin, Logan, Reece, Mason, Megan and Willa; his great grandchildren, Mitch, Ryan, Trinity, Kinlee, Kavery and Aviia; and his great great grandchild Dreyden.
Face covering and no-contact social distancing will be observed.
