He was predeceased by: his parents, Albertus "Bert" and Mary Spencer (McKinney); and his siblings, Sidney Spencer and IdaMae Spencer. He is survived by: his former spouse Francis Ellen Roby; his wife Frances of Hyannis; his children, Deb Jasnoch (Mark) of Lewellen, Katrina Haase (Roscoe) of Valentine and Trace Spencer (Lisa) of Dixon, SD; his grandchildren, B. J. Merrihew (Shana), K. C. Merrihew, Taylor Spencer (Nicole), Caitlin Spencer Redden (Josh), Drew Spencer (Saddie), Carter Haase (Janet) and Dean Haase (Chesney); and his half-sisters, Lola Walker, Alberta Catron and Vera Thurman. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
