He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bruning and Doris Bruning (Bowen). He is survived by: his wife Carol P. Schweitzer; his brothers, Ross Bruning (JoAnn) and Wayne Bruning (Helen); his foster son Thomas Pokaluk (Sue Beck); his children, Brent Bruning and Julie Kriete (Larry); his grandchildren, Ben Bruning (Loretta), Phil Bruning, Nick Naimon, Steven Naimon, Matthew Naimon, Nathan Kriete (Alexis), Joshua Kriete and Nicole Warford; and his great grandchildren, Draco Bruning, Ares Bruning, Wade Kriete and Hope Warford.
