He was predeceased by: his parents, Magnus Nielsen and Alma 'Johansen Nielsen; his brother Gerald Nielsen; and his close friend Janis Tibke. He is survived by: his sons, Robert Nielsen (Carol) of Fremont and Mark Nielsen (Tanya) of Kansas City; his grandchildren, Dylan Nielsen, Harper Nielsen, Quinn Nielsen, Magnus Nielsen and Tara Wasenius; and his brother Leonard Nielsen (Carol) of Fremont. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
