He was predeceased by: his parents, Zelma Pauline Burton Esch and Carl Esch; his wife Ila Surber Heck; and his siblings, Rodney Esch and Karen Cummins (Dick).
He is survived by: his stepchildren, David Heck, Janelle Lamb and Jody Rohde; his sister-in-law Rosemary Esch of Arlington, NE; and his sister Joyce Esch of Des Moines, WA. He is also survived by 6 nephews and nieces; and several great-nieces and nephews.
