He was predeceased by: his siblings, Anders Ashley, Merle Motley (Clyde), Phyllis Konzack (Owen), Estella Ashley and Ardith Ashley.
He is survived by: his siblings, Glenn Raymond and Ellen Hedwig Gustava Ashley (Westergren); his wife Janet Ashley of Holdrege; his children, Bradley Ashley (Tamila) of Holdrege, Linette Chewey (Lee) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Tami Ashley (Jeff DeWitt) of Lincoln and Lisa Neil (Russ) of Adams, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Jessica David (Brett), Zach Ashley, Kaylee Chewey, Seth Chewey, Jared Ashley, Johnathan Neil (Charrissa), Hannah Neil and Jacob Neil; his great grandchildren, Kollyns, Barrett, Boone David, Malcolm and Oliver Neil; his sister LaDonna Schluterbusch (Larry) of Sidney, Nebraska; and his sister-in-law Susan Ashley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in John's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
