It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shawn D. Halsted of Hildreth, Nebraska, born in Denver, Colorado, who passed away on February 23, 2023, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Halsted (Amdahl); his wife Shelli; his stepfather Louis Coyle; and his parents-in-law, Paul and Patricia Reynolds.

He is survived by: his father Jim Halsted (Marianne Fritz-Halsted); his children, Alexandra "Ali" Halsted (Dalton DeBey), Issiah "Ike" Halsted and Skylar "Sky" Halsted; his siblings, Jay Halsted (Tammy) and Veronica Eiley (Jewel); and his stepsiblings, Mark Coyle (Sarah) and Cynthia Coyle. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Shawn's honor are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.

“To the entire Halsted Family, Words cannot express the present sadness and sorrow I feel. I should have been a better friend to Shawn. He guided me into the molding department at BD. I first met him in the locker room at the end of the shift. He was there when I deployed to Iraq. He helped move in the tanning bed before I returned. He helped Russ with electrical work in my home. I remember his good work with the Devon Carmoney benefit. His Chem Shed work. May God's love penetrate the pain....”
