He was predeceased by: his parents, Rial A. Finney and Vera E. Finney (Mansfield); his wife Clara Mayo; his siblings, Rial Finney II, Thomas Finney, Else Finney Cloe, Velma Finney Poynter, David Finney, Idella Finney, Ralph Finney, Phyllis Finney McQuade, Earl Finney, Mary Elizabeth Maxwell (Raymond) and Martha; his brother-in-law Lindy Doyle; his son-in-law Larry Schuttler; and his grandsons, Eric Schuttler, Ted Doyle and Joshua Thomas Benson.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Thomas Benson (Cim) of Moline, IL, Mary Catherine Fisher (Dirk) of Springfield, MO, John Kevin Benson (Colleen) of Hildreth, NE and Patrick Shawn Benson (Janelle) of Central City, NE. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family request memorial contributions in John's honor be given to the family for later designation.
