He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Rasmussen and Mabel Rasmussen (Van De Venter); his wife Charlotte Grothe; his sister Phyllis; his brother-in-law Ed McMullen; his daughter-in-law Deb Rasmussen; and his nephews, Rob McMullen, Jan Phillips and Darcy Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Rasmussen (Lark) of Herman, NE, Rick Rasmussen (Kim) of Herman, NE and Penny Reifenrath (Don) of Wynot, NE; his sister Marilynn English (Tom) of Montrose; his brothers-in-law, Jim Grothe (Judy) of Tekamah, NE and Chuck Grothe (Althea) of O'Fallon, Missouri; and his close friend Betty Heinssen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Randall Backman Benefit at the Washington County Bank, Herman Rescue Squad, or Herman American Legion.
