He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard T Rempel and Olga Rempel (Regier); his former wife Arlene; his siblings, Esther (Pete Wall), Elizabeth (Levi H. Friesen) and John; his sisters-in-law, Lorene Rempel and Deloris Goertzen-Rempel; his sons-in-law, Calvin Epp and Melvin Friesen; and his great grandchild Caleb Friesen.
He is survived by: his wife Anna; his children, Joyce Friesen (Ron) of Lincoln, Carol Janzen (Royce) of Henderson, LaVerne Rempel (Lynda) of Aurora, Connie Friesen of Wichita, KS and Lynette Jost (Rod) of Sheridan, WY; his grandchildren, Michelle Kennedy (Keith) of Johnstown, CO, Joel Friesen (Mary) of Lincoln, NE, Rick Friesen (Brittany) of Papillion, NE, Jay Dee Janzen (Wendy) of Henderson, Brad Janzen (Kara) of Henderson, Scott Janzen (Christa) of Henderson, Jarrod Rempel (Sarah) of Athens, IL, Tyler Rempel (Marie) of Avon, OH, Kelsey McClure (Seth) of Fairfield, NE, Brandon Friesen (Carmen) of Newton, KS, Travis Friesen (Shivani Srivastava) of Seattle, WA, Jenna Van Aswegen (Sam) of Amsterdam, Josh Jost (Rachel) and Allie Pankratz (Drew) of Saratoga Springs, UT; his stepchildren, Kathy Cushing (Don) of Harvard, NE, Terry Kauk (Khris) of Valley Center, KS and Tom Kauk (Dianna) of McCook, NE; and his brothers, LeRoy V. (Marion Friesen) and Dennis (Kathy Unruh). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, private family funeral services will be held at the Bethesda Mennonite Church, Henderson at 2:00 p. m., Wednesday, May 19, 2020 with the church live streaming services for the public.
