He was predeceased by: his parents, Merton Olson and Helen Olson (Lust); and his sister-in-law Linda Lou Olson. He is survived by: his siblings, Jim Olson (Diane) of Hemingford, Rick Olson (Bethany) of Scottsbluff, Lelo Hennings (Gary) of Severance and Marlaine Jacobs (Ted) of Scottsbluff; and his niece Delta Dawn Olson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
