He was predeceased by: his father A. L. "Mick" DeBacker. He is survived by: his mother Sharon K. DeBacker (Schmidt); his caregivers, Virginia and Cal Wallin; his siblings, Teresa DeBacker (Danny McClung), Albuquerque, Debra (David Schnase) and Michael (Kara DeBacker); his nephews, Joe Schnase, Eric Schnase (Sara), Matt Schnase (Amy) and Adam DeBacker; his niece Sara Stroman (Tim); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Carry, Dakota, Dalton, Alayna, Sophie, Molly, Mason, Austin, Taylor, Owen and Callan; his extended family Friends; and also Avery.

Before Covid, he spent most Saturday mornings with his friends at Goldenrod Café.
