He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Paulsen and Elsie Paulsen (Goosman); his son Russell Leonard "Rusty" Paulsen Jr.; his sister Norma Richter; and his brother-in-law Dale Holmes.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Paulsen of Michael's Catholic Church; his children, Melody, Robert "Bob" Blacketer, Wood River and Jeffery "Jeff" Paulsen; his stepchildren, Connie, Mark Thomas, Hastings and Michael Degener; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cooper Thomas, Oaklyn Thomas, Madelyn Consbruck, Emma Consbruck and Noah Consbruck; and his sisters, Carolyn Wailes, Donelda "Donnie" (Donald "Don" Hilligas) and Nancy Holmer. He is also survived by Numerous Nieces & Nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
