We are sad to announce that on January 17, 2021, at the age of 77, Ronald Karnes of Hastings, Nebraska, born in Heartwell, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence J. Karnes and Velma Karnes (Elliott); and his brother Larry Karnes. He is survived by: his wife Sharon K. Karnes; his children, Spouses, Todd (Kim Karnes), Hastings and Shari (Curt Rutt); his grandchildren, Sarah Karnes, Cami Karnes, Matt Karnes, Brady Rutt and Dylan Rutt; and his siblings, Kathy, Lane Luttrell, Baton Rouge and Tom Heyen.

For the health and safety of others face masks are required for those attending the visitation and funeral, your cooperation is appreciated.

Memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or First St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

“We are sorry to read of the passing of Ron. We know what a special person he was. He had a central part in our lives as our travel by serviced vehicles depended on Karnes. Rich had such good conversations with Ron and family was a major topic. I had a special deal with Ron that if I ran out of gas, someone from the station would rescue me and not tell Rich. He and I both shared the trials and triumphs of Rheumatoid Arthritis. May he rest in peace and may you be comforted. Rich &Judy Reimer”
