He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Fichtner and Lena Fichtner (Sayer). He is survived by: his wife Shirley Fichtner; his sons, Tim (Marilu Fichtner) and Larry (Julie Fichtner); his granddaughters, Amanda (Brian Jens), Jessica (Zack Tubbs), Jennifer Fichtner (Kyle) and Chelsea Fichtner (Dylan Fichtner); and his great grandchildren, Mason Jens, Sadie Jens, Isaac Tubbs, Noah Tubbs and Miles Fichtner.

Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
