He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hurst and Geraldine Hurst (Keeler). He is survived by: his children, Josh Hurst (Nichole) of Lincoln, NE and Lisa Pfeifer (Dustin) of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Adelynn, Kinley, Emery, Ava and Isabelle; and his brother Gayle Hurst (Sandy) of Hastings, NE.. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
