He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Edward and Julia Johanna Martha Sheets (Peters); his brothers, Stanley Sheets and Russell Sheets; his sister-in-law Sandra Conroy; and his cousins, Linton Black and Eldon Sheets.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne; his children, Kimberly McCoy (Jason) and Kelly Sheets (Shelley); his grandchildren, Braylen, Brogan and Brynzley Sheets; his sister-in-law Carol Sheets of Hastings; his nephew Troy Sheets (Juliet) of Greeley Colorado; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Harper Taylor (Cole) and Hattie Sheets; his cousins, David Black (Ann) of Grand Island, Kathryn Mousel (Rod) of Kenesaw, Keith Sheets (Betsy) and Janiece Norman (Tom) of Lincoln; and his pet Snookie.
Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or the University of Nebraska-Kearney Athletic Department.
