He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Gentert and Emma Gentert (Einspahr); and his brothers, Elton and Roland Gentert. He is survived by: his sons, Russ (Mary Jo Gentert) and Andy (Cheryl Gentert); his grandchildren, Ethan Gentert, Kaitlyn, Bryce Wart and Jonathan Gentert; and his great grandchild Emery Wart.

Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
