It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary R. Ries of Hastings, Nebraska, born in Loup City, Nebraska, who passed away on May 30, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Mary departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Mary. Though Mary may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lewandowski and Gertrude Lewandowski (Gappa); her husband Bill J. Ries of Mary's Cathedral; and her sisters, Jeannie Woestman and Dorothy Smith.
She is survived by: her daughter Sherri (Tom Hiatt). She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
