He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Powell and Audrey Powell (Roberts); his wife Sharon McCoy; his brother Merle; and his son Lloyd Powell Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Vicki Kenley (Dan) of Fairbury, NE, Randal Powell of Hastings, NE and RaQuel Davis of Hastings, NE. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
