He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sowers and Mary Sowers (Goldt); his stepmother Blanche Sowers (Hatcher); and his siblings, Sandra, Sharon, Kenneth, John Jr. and Butch.

He is survived by: his siblings, Alvin Sowers, Sr. and Andrea Fisher (Sowers). He is also survived by one niece; and five nephews.

Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
