He is survived by: his wife LaVeda of Blue Hill; his children, Vickie Nolan (David) of Red Cloud, Karl Berns (Lorie) of Blue Hill, Mark Berns (Rhonda) of Blue Hill, Dale Berns (Deborah) of Red Cloud and Kris Simmerman (Brian) of Clay Center; his sister Geneva Lewis of Bladen; and also, David Berns (Sharon) of Bladen, Richard Berns (Sherry) of Othello and Henry D. Berns (Marilyn) of Andover.
