He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Koontz and Margaret Koontz (Eustler); his brother Peter; his father-in-law Earl Westfall; and his nephew Brian Westfall.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Westfall; his children, Mark (Ashli), James III (Amy) and Sarah (Ed); and his grandchildren, Justus, Merci, Ziva, Silas, Agnes, Allison, James IV, Chloey, Payton, Phoenix and Hendrix.
