He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Schakat and Anna Schakat (Palke); his wife Dorothy Mann; and his grandson Jordan Schakat. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn LeBar (Craig) of Hastings, Beverly Kercher (Roger) of Douglas, AZ, JoAnn Schakat of Hastings and Jon Schakat (Jody) of Juniata. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
