With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sue Engler of Harrisburg, Nebraska, born in Alliance, Nebraska, who passed away on September 13, 2023 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Erma R. Shellenberger, (Wilkinson) and Hubert Dale Shellenberger, Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Robert Engler; her children, Jane (Warren Nelson, Jr.) of Lincoln, David of Belle Fourche, Jim (Lori) of Holdrege and Dan (Sondra) of Hartford; her foster daughter Marcia Freisz of Omaha; her grandchildren, Trey, Amy, Lora, Shannon, David, Damon, Danyele, Mindy, Matt, Jennifer and Michael; and her great grandchildren, Glen, Kade, Christian, Layne, Sydney, Sylvie, Kevin, Cameron, Justis, William, Jordan, Cadence, Malakye, Hayden, Ellie, Adelyn, Michael, Alexander, Emily, Hazel and Oliver.
In 1998, Susan and Robert were honored by the Nebraska Heart Institute and Bryan LGH Medical Center, in recognition of their donated time and talent that promoted better heart and health care for the citizens of Phelps County, Nebraska.
